Whilst having a broad litigation practice, Mitchell primarily practices in regulatory, government, and administrative law.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Mitchell practised as a principal lawyer in the Department of Justice (Qld), prosecuting regulatory offences, defending government agency decisions, and providing advice on contracts, appeals, and statutory interpretation.

Mitchell has appeared before specialist courts and tribunals across a range of child protection, summary offence prosecutions, civil litigation, and regulatory matters.
